Doug's guess is that it is a rock broken open.
My guess is mold. Then I looked at it and thought about it and I think Doug's answer is better.

i think its a really close up picture of our granite countertops. I hate to say it when others thinking that its mold... i promise our house is sanatary (most the time)
but the green/blue is the reflection of the gold flakes in the counter.
