Pet peeve
At work yesterday, I sat by a woman who was probably in her 40's. I am almost 50 so, I know I was older than her, but ALL DAY LONG she kept calling me "Hon" or "Honey". It was the most annoying thing ever! I can't stand it when people call me hon or honey who are not entitled to do so! Only my husband and my parents and inlaws are allowed to do that! Anyway, it REALLY bugged me and I was so glad to get out of there so I wouldn't have to hear it again!

I hear ya Hon...
Sometimes I call my students honey when I can't remember their names fast enough. I figure I am their grandma's age or older so I am O.K. But I can't imagine calling someone my age or older (or my childrens' ages) honey. That would bug me too.
